About the Company:

A well-established commercial construction firm with over two decades of successful project delivery across Texas is seeking an experienced Superintendent for multiple retail developments throughout the Houston area. The company specializes in multifamily, office, industrial, retail, and healthcare construction, delivering exceptional quality and client satisfaction on every project.

Position Overview:

The Superintendent will oversee daily field operations for retail construction projects ranging from $8 million to $25 million in value. The ideal candidate will manage all on-site construction activities, ensure quality standards are met, maintain project schedules, and coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to deliver successful retail developments throughout the Houston metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and coordinate all field construction activities and personnel
• Implement and enforce site safety protocols and procedures
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring efficient workflow and quality workmanship
• Conduct daily inspections to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and building codes
• Identify and resolve field conflicts and construction issues proactively
• Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and construction documentation
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and inspectors for site visits and approvals
• Develop and maintain short-term schedules to meet overall project timelines
• Participate in owner meetings and provide updates on construction progress
• Ensure projects meet quality standards, budget requirements, and timeline objectives

Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects
• Proven track record managing retail construction projects in the $8M-$25M range
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequences, and building systems
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with construction management software and digital documentation
• OSHA certification required; additional safety certifications preferred
