Job Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager-Central & West will drive sales growth and expand distribution for Hippeas in the Chicago area by building key relationships, developing promotional programs, and leveraging data insights. This role ensures forecast accuracy, program execution, and timely reporting while championing Hippeas' mission to transform snacking.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for building relationships and meeting regularly (live and virtually) with all accounts as assigned including but not limited to Conventional, Natural, Specialty, and Distributors.
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve/exceed annual sales targets through new and expanded distribution
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with the retailer, distributor sales-force, and broker sales teams
Proactive broker management to ensure that our initiatives and programs are implemented seamlessly and accurately
Develop effective, high ROI, promotional programs to support the success of our brand, while staying within established trade guidelines
Understand data analysis and possess the ability to identify and communicate retailer specific opportunities
Work with Demand and Supply Planning teams to ensure accurate forecasts are in place to support your business throughout the distribution chain.
Maximize customer program execution – which includes selling new items and incremental shelf space, securing displays, maintaining proper inventory levels and planogram execution
Comprehend category-specific landscapes and trends, reporting on the forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
Accurate and timely weekly sales reporting, focused on profitable growth with customers, broker activity and marketplace information.
Attend trade shows as needed to help build brand awareness and grow sales.
Travel required (up to 30%)
Qualifications & Attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field.
4-6 years of experience in field sales, or a related role within the CPG industry, ideally in snacks or natural foods.
Proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint and trade management software (e.g. Vividly)
Strategic channel insights and ability to drive effective customer and channel planning processes
Experience working with syndicated data tools (e.g., IRI, Nielsen) and applying data insights to inform sales strategies.
Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to manage budgets, trade spending, and promotional analysis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.
Excellent listening, negotiation, verbal and written communications skills
Creative problem-solving and a proactive mindset to navigate challenges.
