Our client is expanding their Mass Torts practice with the opening of their new office in Newark, New Jersey. They are seeking Personal Injury Case Managers serve as the primary point of contact with clients and help collect and organize the evidence they need to successfully represent them. The position supports paralegals and attorneys throughout all phases of case development from initial contact through trial. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Salary: $52,500

Ideal candidate:
- Has an AA Degree and a year or more experience working in a Personal Injury, MedMal or Insurance Defense legal practice.
- Recently graduated from college (BA or BS Degree)
- Wants to be a lawyer but wants to get experience working in a law office before attending law school, or
- Is empathetic, great listener, patient, and possesses strong communication skills.
- Detailed-oriented and good at following established procedures.
- Skilled in data entry and working with various software programs.
- Highly organized and thorough in keeping a current client and case status list.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interview clients, who are victims of defective drugs or devices, environmental contamination, their dependents, and/or survivors, and collect that information.
- Conducts pre-litigation investigations, light discovery work, responding to inquiries, reviewing records, drafting correspondence, analytical work, and updates, follows and guides client through the litigation process.
- Reviews medical records, client documents and interrogatory responses
- Talks to and assists our clients with gathering information.
- Coordinates medical record retrieval with paralegals.
- Interprets and disseminates information concerning client claims and casework to the legal team.
- Consults with medical or legal staff in the development of pertinent evidence to support claims.
Other Details:
- Job is estimated to require 40 hours of work each week (normal workday is 9 to 6). Due to the confidential legal nature of the matters, job will be performed on-site.
- This is a permanent, full-time position.
