Position Overview:
The Plant Controller will spearhead all financial operations at the plant level, maintaining compliance with both managerial and financial accounting standards. This role encompasses overseeing the accuracy and completeness of financial reports, managing budget processes, and ensuring a robust internal control system. The Controller will serve as a key financial liaison among various business units, providing leadership and fostering cross-functional collaboration to enhance financial transparency and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial oversight of the plant, encompassing all aspects of financial and managerial reporting.
- Ensure the delivery of accurate internal and external financial reports and maintain the overall integrity of financial data.
- Oversee financial tracking, evaluate operational metrics, and deliver comprehensive summaries of findings to support strategic decision-making.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to clarify financial concepts for operational teams and integrate financial management with plant operations.
- Develop and maintain robust planning and budgeting systems, including annual budgets and five-year plans. Prepare detailed financial and management reports and present findings effectively.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial and budget reports to ensure accuracy and glean key insights; actively participate in enhancing financial understanding across the business.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment in alignment with GAAP and company-specific accounting policies; ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Act as a primary contact for compliance issues and service-level escalations within the plant.
- Manage and supervise plant accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This includes overseeing fixed assets, inventory valuation, product costing, and general asset and liability management.
- Initiate and implement improvements in everyday operational activities to uphold financial system integrity in line with reporting standards.
- Drive the completion of projects within timelines, adhering to established practices and reporting guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Proficient knowledge of financial and management accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software systems such as SAP, LongView, and PeopleSoft.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from plant personnel to senior management.
- Significant supervisory experience and the capability to lead a finance team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple financial reporting and compliance tasks simultaneously across one or more business units.
- Experience in identifying and resolving compliance and reporting discrepancies, with a track record of process improvement and providing mentorship to junior staff.
- Skilled at facilitating cross-functional communication to ensure clear understanding of financial outcomes and adherence to reporting schedules.
- Experience in leveraging relationships with both finance and non-finance plant teams to deepen understanding of the production processes and secure essential operational data.
Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
