Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their corporate team based in Madison, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company and leader in the packaging industry. CPA obtained or in process is required.
Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule - 3 days in office, 2 days remote
What you’ll do:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting processes for both the domestic and international businesses.
- Perform the general ledger closing process to ensure the timely reporting of accurate financial information.
- Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Perform variance analyses
- Prepare account reconciliations
- Identify issues as they arise to facilitate the monthly close process, as well as performing analytical reviews and variance analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness of month end reporting
- Complete monthly and year-end management and audit schedules
- Identify and resolve financial issues and communicating such issues to the Assistant Controller on a timely basis
- Provide information for financial, statutory, retirement plan, and bank audits
- Assist finance and non-finance departments with accounting and reporting issues and other ad hoc requests and participate in finance related projects and initiatives as they arise.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an accounting-related field
- Proficiency in accounting / ERP software is preferred
- Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience required
- CPA required
