What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at Hire Society?
Private New York family seeks an experienced full-time Housekeeper to assist in the daily cleaning, care, and service of their Hamptons residence.
This position consists of a Monday-Friday workweek during the winter and a 5-day weekend schedule during the summer season, with overriding flexibility to work additional days and hours as needed upon request.
The candidate should be extremely detail-oriented, able to navigate and clean around antiques and fine artwork and be comfortable working both independently and with a team of staff.
Requirements :
- Strong command of English language; outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
- Minimum 5 -7 years of experience working in a private home
- Valid Driver’s License a plus; confident driver with a clean driving record
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; willing and able to take direction well
- Thorough knowledge of deep household cleaning, laundry, organization, fine arts, and antiques
- Polished, poised and professional in both mindset and manner; use of utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Willing and able to provide light childcare when needed
- Flexibility in scheduling with the willingness to work additional hours as needed
- Legally able to work in the United States
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- All aspects of general housekeeping, deep cleaning, and upkeep of the residence
- Ability to perform museum-quality cleaning with proficiency in special surfaces (wood, glass, leather, antiques, silver, etc.)
- Completing the family’s laundry including washing and ironing clothes as necessary or needed
- Superior organization skills and willingness to go above and beyond in all aspects of the job
- Maintaining residence for guest readiness at all times
- Willingness to run routine errands such as dry cleaners, groceries, etc.
- Additional Housekeeper responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the family
