Company Overview:
We are expanding our IT department following a recent acquisition and are looking for a highly skilled Postgres DBA to support our platform development initiatives. You will join a tight-knit Agile team working on next-generation electronic monitoring systems, including cloud-native applications and GPS-enabled wearable technologies.
Project Overview:
As a Postgres DBA, you will play a key role in supporting the design and implementation of our new cloud-based platform. You will contribute to database strategy, data analysis, and performance optimization while collaborating closely with development and product teams.
Responsibilities:
Administer, monitor, and optimize PostgreSQL databases in a high-availability environment
Perform data analysis to support predictive analytics and behavioral scoring systems
Collaborate with a Scrum team including developers, QA, and product owners
Contribute to the design and development of cloud-based platforms
Take ownership of performance tuning, schema design, and query optimization
Work in a startup-style environment, wearing multiple hats and adapting as needed
Support cloud migration initiatives and infrastructure improvements
Must-Have Qualifications:
5 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
Strong skills in data analysis and performance tuning
Experience working in startup or consulting environments
Self-sufficient, motivated, and able to thrive under pressure
Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with MongoDB
Exposure to AWS Aurora or cloud-native database solutions
Understanding of Go language
Background in database development or data science
