We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with experience in AS9100-certified production environments to develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for internal audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality systems development while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to maintain AS9100 certification.
- Design and execute internal training and audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Lead quality system and process design , ensuring proper documentation and compliance with industry and customer requirements .
- Provide technical expertise in resolving process issues and implementing new processes.
- Evaluate external quality technologies and provide recommendations to senior management for process and business system improvements .
- Assist in creating quality roadmaps to capture new business opportunities and support long-term quality strategy.
- Apply quality engineering principles and work cross-functionally to improve manufacturing processes.
- Interpret customer specifications and technical drawings , providing guidance to sales and manufacturing teams to ensure product compliance.
- Maintain First Article Reports (FAI) and process documentation for new and existing products.
- Lead and coordinate quality projects across multiple product lines, manufacturing sites, or suppliers.
- Interact with customers and suppliers to clarify technical points, investigate improvements, and resolve quality issues.
- Support structured problem-solving initiatives , including root cause analysis, SPC, and process control methodologies .
- Provide training and cross-training in quality methodologies such as SPC, structured problem-solving, and quality management systems.
- Supervise junior engineers or technicians as needed, either directly or within project teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-3 years of relevant quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) and / or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) / Manager .
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification .
- Certified Lead Auditor for AS9100 .
- Proficiency with AS9100 standards and quality management systems .
- Strong technical drawing interpretation and knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques .
- Understanding of manufacturing and quality control methodologies , including process validation.
- Experience with First Article Inspections (FAI), Process Control Charts, and Production KPIs .
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab or JMP preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills , with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Due to the nature of regulated manufacturing projects , compliance with specific citizenship or work authorization requirements may be necessary.
