πΌ Role Overview: The DSD will oversee orientation, job skills training, in-service education, and Certification Training Programs for nursing assistants. Working collaboratively with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Administrator, the DSD ensures the delivery of high-quality care and also provides direct patient care.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read technical procedures.
- Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
π‘ Key Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (RN, LVN, or LPN).
- BSN preferred.
- At least two years of experience, ideally in a long-term care facility.
- Current CPR certification and active nursing license.
- Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs.
