Immigration Staff Attorney – Broward County

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an Immigration Staff Attorney to join our team. This impactful role is based on our Plantation office and focuses on assisting survivors of crimes with their immigration cases, including humanitarian-based benefits such as VAWA, U Visas, and asylum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide immigration consultations and conduct know-your-rights presentations to immigrant communities.
- Represent clients in immigration court proceedings and before agencies such as ICE and USCIS.
- Collaborate with community organizations and contribute to educational programs.
- Prepare grant reports and billing documentation.
Qualifications
- Active membership in any State Bar (Florida Bar membership is not required).
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Preferably 1–3 years of experience in immigration law.
- Experience working with low-income or vulnerable populations is a plus.
- Sensitivity and empathy toward individuals who have experienced trauma.
- Ability to manage a heavy caseload, meet deadlines, and handle high-pressure situations.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to social justice and serving marginalized communities.
- Fluency in Spanish or another language is highly desirable.
