Title: Director of Nursing (DON)


Location: Vancouver, WA


Reports to: CEO


Employment Type: Full-time, In-person


Compensation: $130,000 - $140,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the nursing management team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between physicians, patients, referral sources, and staff, fostering seamless communication.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and present nursing performance reports to the executive leadership team.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations while upholding clinical excellence.
  • Oversee crisis prevention training and ensure all nursing staff certifications remain current.
  • Champion a patient-first approach, supporting a psychosocial model that enhances patient outcomes.


What You Bring


Must-Haves


  • Education: BSN required; a postgraduate degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration preferred (or a written plan to obtain one).


  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted RN license in Washington State.


  • Certifications: CPI/Crisis Prevention Training (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).


  • Experience:Leadership in behavioral health or psychiatric settings.
  • Direct experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patient populations.
  • Expertise in patient assessments, treatment planning, and family communication.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS compliance.


  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.


Nice-to-Haves

  • Leadership experience in an inpatient behavioral health/psychiatric setting.
  • Background in crisis stabilization environments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (Joint Commission, CMS).
  • Experience in budget management and healthcare staffing.
