Lead Event Technician - Willingboro, NJ (Hybrid/Remote)

We have a full-time opening for a Lead Event Technician based in our client's NJ office. This role involves traveling to venues across the United States to facilitate the setup and operation of AV hardware while providing on-site technical support for tradeshows, meetings, events, and conventions.
Note: This is a full-time, permanent W2 opportunity with benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and employer 401K contributions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot audio, video, and IT equipment, including microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, effects racks, LED video screens, projectors, video switchers, cameras, and recording equipment.
- Expertly set up and maintain audio and video equipment for live events.
- Maintain AV and IT hardware, providing both on-site and remote troubleshooting and configuration.
- Manage technical aspects, changes, and additions at events as required by the client.
- Travel to venues throughout the United States and Canada to ensure equipment operates correctly.
- Provide direction and support to traveling teams and clients.
- Perform software, firmware, and operating system updates for AV and computer systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an AV Lead Event Technician, operating audio and video equipment.
- At least 1 year of leadership experience, managing a team of AV technicians during live events.
- Strong knowledge of audio-visual systems design, LED wall configuration, system servicing, engineering, integration, and real-time support during events.
- Experience configuring and operating audio, video, and LED control equipment.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for AV equipment and rack-mounted systems, ensuring immediate repair or replacement to restore operations.
- Excellent customer service skills for interacting with both internal teams and external clients.
- Professional demeanor, dress, and ability to perform tasks politely and professionally in client-facing settings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s or technical degree preferred but not required.
- Advanced understanding of audio-visual and computer equipment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items such as road cases.
- Must have a flexible schedule, including availability for weekends and nights.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no major violations, DUIs, or multiple moving violations in the past five years).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or other industry certifications are a plus.
