We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Paralegal to join our Family Law team and contribute to our commitment to excellence and client success.
Key Responsibilities :
Case Management : Oversee and manage complex family law cases from start to finish, ensuring all legal and procedural deadlines are met.
Legal Research : Conduct thorough legal research to assist attorneys with case strategy, preparing case summaries, and identifying precedents relevant to family law cases.
Document Preparation : Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and client correspondence.
Client Liaison : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed on case progress and assisting with client intake, document collection, and communication.
Court Filings and Submissions : Prepare and file documents with the court and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all filing requirements.
Team Support and Mentorship : Provide guidance and training to junior paralegals and legal assistants, helping to develop their skills and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Coordination of Discovery : Manage the discovery process, including reviewing, organizing, and summarizing documents, conducting depositions, and preparing responses to discovery requests.
Legal Strategy Assistance : Work closely with attorneys to develop case strategies, assist with trial preparation, and provide insight into case progress and potential issues.
Billing and Administrative Support : Track and record billable hours, assist with client billing, and maintain organized case files.
Qualifications :
4 years of California family law experience.
Paralegal certification (ABA-accredited program preferred) or Bachelors degree.
Advanced knowledge of California family law procedures, court filings, and legal terminology.
Strong drafting and document preparation skills.
Proactive in achieving billable goals to contribute to the firms success.
Willingness to train and mentor junior staff, fostering their professional growth.
Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and systems.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in legal research, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
Work Arrangement :
We are open to candidates working fully remote, in-office, or hybrid for this role.
For remote candidates, we prefer individuals with prior remote work experience who are proactive in managing their work independently and can participate in client calls without distractions.
Our work hours are 8 : 30 am - 5 : 00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8 : 30 am - 12 : 00 pm on Fridays.
Office Location : Los Gatos, CA
What We Offer :
Competitive salary : $80,000 - $110,000 annually, based on experience.
