Rockwall County Volkswagen is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Comptroller/Business Manager to oversee the dealership’s financial operations. This role is responsible for managing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance to ensure the dealership operates efficiently and profitably.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial planning strategies.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure proper financial controls are in place.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal financial regulations, including tax filings and audits.
- Work closely with department managers to optimize financial performance and cost controls.
- Manage banking relationships, loans, and financial transactions.
- Oversee the preparation of month-end and year-end financial reports.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard dealership assets.
- Supervise and support the accounting team, providing guidance and training as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership accounting, financial management, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive dealership accounting systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds).
- Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to work effectively with team members and executives.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an automotive dealership or similar financial management role.
- CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
