Your Role with the Company

As the Principal Technical Engineer , you will lead equipment and process design improvements in ammonia manufacturing and related processes. You’ll be a key technical expert driving operational excellence and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new business opportunities. This hands-on role allows you to influence the direction of the business and industry.

You’ll have the opportunity to :

Apply your expertise in ammonia, nitrate, urea, uric acid, or similar manufacturing processes to optimize equipment and operations.

Work with advanced technologies, such as Kellogg Brown & Root ammonia reactors , to enhance production outcomes and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with senior leadership, engineering teams, and business units to implement strategic initiatives that drive growth and industry advancements.

Lead and oversee improvements in safety, yields, production rates, and operational stability.

Background Profile

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering .

15 years of experience in process, production, and / or manufacturing engineering within the chemical, petroleum, and / or polymer manufacturing environments.

Expertise in ammonia, nitrate, urea, uric acid, or similar manufacturing processes.

Additional Qualifications :

Six Sigma Black Belt , Lean Manufacturing, or Green Belt certification is a plus.

5 years of experience in ammonia and / or nitrogen-based fertilizer plants or related processes.

Proficiency in process simulation, design, and operation for a broad range of unit operations (e.g., reaction, distillation, refrigeration, fired heaters, heat exchange).

Experience in Front-End-Loading (FEL) and stage gate project development for major capital projects.

Familiarity with DCS systems (Experion, Foxboro, DeltaV).

Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and compliance in industrial operations.

Proficient in Aspen Plus , PipeFlo, Minitab, Excel, and process release modeling software (Safer, Phast).

Must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

Compensation

Salary : $160K to $200K base, with 10% bonus potential .

Type : Direct Hire .

Travel : Minimal .
