POSITION SUMMARY 

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of National Inside Sales. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting the growth of sales activities on the Central Territories. Inside Sales Representative provides the highest level of customer satisfaction and will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. Must be comfortable making cold calling, working with Account Managers, Distribution Partners, Manufacturer’s Representative generating leads, qualifying prospects, and assisting in closing sales.  The position requires engagement with multicultural teams overseas. While the position has an option to work remotely, the candidate must be able to commute to Hirose’s Chicago Office (Downers Grove, IL) on dedicated working days. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to 

Customer Experience and Support 

  1. Develop a strong understanding and relationships with the regional team’s assigned focused accounts including, but not limited to their procurement team, product management team, engineering teams, quality department and any other department sales deems key to growing Hirose revenue. 
  2. Understand customer needs and requirements and assist outside Account Managers to generate new opportunities (N and C projects) and design win. 
  3. Collaborate with the appropriate internal department(s) including Hirose oversea HQ, subsidiaries, and assigned outside Account Manager to resolve technical, quality or support issues raised by a customer and engage in until action is completed.  
  4. Be the face of Hirose sales portraying a professional manner to customers, Distribution Partners, and manufacturer’s representatives. 

Hirose Sales Team Support and Administration 

  1. Cooperatively assist Regional Sales Team on demand creations and achieving annual sales targets. 
  2. Team with Distribution Partners and manufacturer’s representatives to create sales opportunities. 
  3. Source new sales opportunities through inbound and outbound leads.  
  4. Follow-up on quoting activity to define customer interest level and drive to the project win. 
  5. Be the point of contact for expediting discussions including communication, lead time, and general product availability. 
  6. Research prospect account and expand your database within your assigned territory. Identify key players and generate interest and qualify the leads.  
  7. Coordinate setting up meetings for Regional Sales Team.  
  8. Assist Regional Sales Team in revenue forecasting, Salesforce (MFC) data updates. 
  9. Manage the company’s revenue tracking system and ensure revenue is being reported accurately.   
  10. Work with the PCN team to assist in research and communication to affected regional customers to ensure their understanding of the situation and what options are available. 
  11. Enter and track sample orders and work with sales team on either hand delivery or direct shipment to customer.

  3. Develop and maintain cooperative and constructive working relationships with: 
  4. Customers. 
  5. Hirose Inside Sales Team 
  6. Hirose Americas Sales Team 
  7. Counterparts in Japan Corporate Office, and other subsidiaries. 
  8. Distribution Partners, Manufacturing Representatives, and other business partners. 
  9. Other Internal Departments 
  10. Complete tasks per ISO9001-2008 requirements, when applicable. 

Requirements

 SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  1. BA or BS Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customer service or inside sales within a similar environment. 
  2. Experience in minimum 2 years of Cold Calling.  
  3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and web applications. 
  4. Experience in using Salesforce CRM solution and HubSpot preferred. 
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  6. Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and quality standards. 
  7. Possess excellent communication skills (oral and written) to work with both external and internal customers.   
  8. Be aggressive in driving outbound sales opportunities by cold calling new customers and building relationships with existing customers. 
  9. Ability to resolve issues and escalate in a timely fashion and to the customer’s needs. 
  10. Ability to communicate in English. Japanese, a plus. 
  11. Able to clearly and concisely communicate across different cultures. 
  12. Must be able to work 8:00-17:00 Central Standard Time (CST) Time Zone.  
  13. Must have internet access in case of remote working situation. 
  14. Maintain a high level of retention. 

Basic understanding of the electronic component industry a plus SUPERVISION None  PHYSICAL CONDITIONS  Normal office environment.
