Job Description:
Hirsh Industries is looking for a critical member of its leadership team. This position will work synergistically with the other members of the Hirsh Steering Team to manage and oversee the company's overall plant operations. They will also be responsible for leading the maintenance and engineering organizations and representing the technical areas of the facility in the Hirsh Steering team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- As part of the Hirsh Steering team, they will participate in leading and directing all aspects of the manufacturing operations and make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations through continuous improvement.
- Leads and directs the manufacturing engineers and maintenance leadership to accomplish the goals of manufacturing.
- Provides leadership and direction through effective communication, coaching, training, and development of the management team.
- Identifies, communicates, and drives implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of BA in mechanical engineering or similar field.
- 7-10 years of experience leading a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial or mechanical engineering experience.
- 7 years of operations management experience
- Proficient with MS Office and statistical analysis tools.
- Prefers a hands-on production environment.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of maintenance systems, one-piece flow design and cellular manufacturing.
- Understands control and power systems (mechanical, electrical, PLC)
- Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing tools.
- Knowledge of resistance welding, sheet metal fabrication and industrial paint systems.
- Knowledge of Toyota Production Systems techniques a plus.
