Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for the daily inspection tasks required to support manufacturing production. Being a member of this team, you are responsible for performing inspections to ensure that products and services of the highest level of quality are produced in accordance with the Hirsh Production System.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, patient person to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work with others and find a solution while under a tight schedule.
Duties
Quality Lab Production Support
- Prioritize tasks, ensuring priorities are executed according to production schedule
- Operate Zeiss CMMs to perform in-process inspections
- Perform First Article, manual, and receiving inspections using measuring equipment and systems
- Prepare and tear down inspection equipment kits
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection laboratory
Operations and Team Support
- Analyze and communicate inspection results between the Quality and Manufacturing teams
- Understand the proper use of inspection concepts, tools, techniques, processes, and their application
- Working knowledge of operating Zeiss Duramax and Contura CMMs and Calypso software
- Review Process Change Requests and assist with updating QC plans
- Perform spot checks and walkarounds on the production floor
- Train new team members in the systems and processes that QA utilizes
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
- Dedicated and reliable work ethic
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally with a wide variety of internal and external customers and support groups
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures
- Zeiss/Calypso (or equivalent CMM) operating experience
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 and/or AS9100
- Working knowledge of GDT
- Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
Desirable Education and Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience working in a quality/manufacturing environment, preferably CNC machining related.
Working Conditions
- Able to stand and walk around your entire shift most days
- Utilize cleaning products to clean parts prior to measurement
- Flexibility in hours to potentially work evening hours or at a different facility as needed based on workload
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
