Job Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive work order packages, including all necessary engineering documents, specifications, and instructions for production.
- Audit work order packages to ensure all documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with company standards and industry regulations.
- Verify that all documents meet the required specifications and include accurate dimensions, materials, and tolerances.
- Maintain an organized system for document control, ensuring easy retrieval and proper archiving of all engineering documents.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues found during the document review process.
- Continuously monitor and update document control procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure all documents are properly formatted, labeled, and version-controlled in accordance with company policies.
- Assist in training team members on document control processes and best practices to promote compliance and accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulations related to engineering documentation and incorporate any changes into the document control process.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in document control, quality assurance, or a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in reviewing technical documents.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in using document control software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations related to engineering documentation.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Certification in Document Control or related field is a plus.
