The Senior HVAC & VRF Application and Design System Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and implementing HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems. This role is essential in ensuring that our HVAC solutions are efficient, reliable, and meet the highest standards of quality. By leveraging your expertise in HVAC and VRF systems, you will contribute to the design, application, technical support, and troubleshooting that drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- System Design and Development: Design and develop HVAC and VRF systems that meet customer requirements and industry standards. Create detailed system layouts, specifications, and documentation.
- Application Engineering: Analyze project requirements and provide application engineering support for HVAC and VRF systems. Ensure systems are properly sized and configured for optimal performance.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide expert technical support to internal teams and clients. Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, providing effective solutions. Conduct site inspections and performance evaluations to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in HVAC and VRF system design and application. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all HVAC and VRF systems comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
- Customer Engagement: Work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored HVAC and VRF solutions. Conduct site visits and assessments as needed.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on HVAC and VRF system design and application.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and VRF system design and application.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in HVAC and VRF system design and simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Trane TRACE, VRF selection tools).
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles, system components, and control strategies.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, AHRI, local building codes).
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze complex system requirements and provide effective solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
