Hispanic Family Center of Southern New Jersey’s (HFC) mission is to provide the community with a broad range of social services and advocacy programs that promote and encourage empowerment and self-sufficiency. We are the largest Latino community based nonprofit in Southern New Jersey. Founded in 1976 as a grass roots, community-based response to the gap in counseling services for Spanish speaking residents, we have since grown to be a major provider of a range of human services including: English as a Second Language and Job Training; Health Education and Family Strengthening; Behavioral Health Counseling; Energy Assistance; Seniors’ Initiatives. HFC is based in Camden and Woodbury Cities. We operate local and regional programming and collaborate with other partners to ensure the delivery of high quality services.
Position Description:
The Medical Director/Psychiatrist provides services to consumers in our Camden City outpatient program.
Essential Functions:
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and mental status evaluations to consumers.
- Prescribe psychotropic medications for the treatment and symptoms of substance use disorders and mental disorders.
- Collaborate with staff therapists in the development of care plans and monitoring of client progress.
- Gather and maintain pertinent patient information and records with the assistance from staff, including psycho and medical history obtained from consumers, relatives, and other professionals.
- Provide psycho-education to consumers regarding the nature of their mental disorders/substance use disorders and psychotropic medications.
- Examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on consumers to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorder.
- Advise and inform significant others of patients' conditions and treatment.
- Prepare and submit case reports and summaries to government and mental health agencies as needed and deemed appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:
MD or DO licensed in New Jersey; Completion of general psychiatry residency; Possession of Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate; Board Eligible or Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry;
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in English and Spanish
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $125.00 - $160.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 35 per week

Experience:
- Psychiatry: 1 year (Preferred)
- Mental health counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
