Restaurant Manager - Historic Park Inn and Restaurant

ACCOUNTABILTY:

As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining efficiency and profitability. This role requires strong leadership, a commitment to high-quality service, and the ability to drive business growth within the food and beverage operations of the hotel. 

REPORTS TO AND IS SERVED BY: General Manager 


WHAT TO EXPECT

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement operational strategies for the hotel's restaurant to achieve revenue and profitability goals while ensuring high-quality service and guest satisfaction. 

Menu Development: Work closely with the culinary team to design innovative and appealing menus that align with guest preferences, dietary needs, and seasonal trends. 

Budget Management: Oversee the restaurant's budget, including expense forecasting, cost control, and revenue optimization through strategic pricing and menu engineering. 

Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate a diverse team of restaurant professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and high performance. 

Quality Control: Maintain and uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hotel policies. 

Guest Experience & Customer Service: Monitor guest satisfaction, promptly address concerns or complaints, and implement service enhancements to deliver exceptional dining experiences. 

Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, implementing cost-effective ordering and waste-reduction strategies. 

Marketing & Promotions: Collaborate with the hotel’s marketing team to develop and execute promotions, special offers, and events to increase guest engagement and revenue. 

Event & Banquet Coordination: Assist in planning and executing special events, private dining experiences, and banquet services to ensure smooth operations and exceed guest expectations. 

Vendor & Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely procurement of high-quality ingredients and supplies. 

Operational Efficiency: Ensure smooth day-to-day restaurant operations, address any challenges proactively, and adapt to dynamic hotel and guest needs.

  • Demonstrate flexibility in handling various tasks, including "other duties as assigned." 
  • Participate in department meetings and maintain effective communication with colleagues and hotel leadership. 
  • Obtain and maintain any necessary certifications relevant to the role. 
  • Maintain physical stamina and adaptability to perform job-related tasks in a fast-paced environment.

HARD SKILLS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School degree or GED required; College degree in related areas preferred. 

Alcohol and Food Safety Certification certifications preferred 

5 years of Restaurant Management required; hospitality industry preferred. 

Must be able to operate commercial kitchen and similar commercial equipment used to maintain the restaurant and hotel.  

Be familiar with or capable of learning the computer systems and electronic machines used to carry out the tasks of this position. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

TRAVEL: N/A
