Hitachi Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. We are located in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments, Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Hitachi Astemo, inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Inventory Review & Organization:
- Assist in cataloging and organizing MRO spare parts.
- Verify existing inventory records for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify obsolete or duplicate parts for potential consolidation or removal.
Specification Research & Verification:
- Read and interpret part specifications from technical drawings, manuals, and supplier catalogs.
- Look up parts in databases and supplier websites to validate descriptions, dimensions, and compatibility.
- Work with engineering and procurement teams to confirm part requirements and specifications.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Update and maintain accurate records of MRO spare parts in inventory systems.
- Assist in developing a standardized spare parts database for future reference.
- Support reporting on critical spare parts availability and recommend improvements.
Process Improvement & Support:
- Identify opportunities to improve spare parts organization and accessibility.
- Assist in labeling and storage improvements for easier identification and retrieval.
- Work with cross-functional teams to enhance MRO spare parts tracking and management.
When accomplishing tasks, remember to work toward meeting overall company goals established which include, OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance.
Safety & Environmental:
- This position will help support Safety & Environmental at the USRSP1 site as needed.
- All Safety policies and procedures will be adhered to and required by this position and maintained throughout the Quality Assurance group.
Quality:
- Must have good understanding of Quality terminology and practices.
Delivery:
- Must have good understanding of Delivery, Inventory and Supply Chain practices.
Productivity:
- Uses time management skills to organize, prioritize and delegate multiple projects to meet project deadlines.
Reporting:
Reports regularly to Stakeholders, PC&L Department Head, Site Head, Regional PMO and Regional BU Head as required.
Qualifications
Preferred Skills:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, and part manuals.
- Strong research skills to look up and verify part details from various sources.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
