What are the responsibilities and job description for the Global Pricing Analyst position at Hitachi Energy?
he Global Pricing Analyst (GPA) provides software pricing and costing analysis to the sales team. The GPA work is done in a primarily reactive environment, and may require the coordination of multiple requests simultaneously, often with fast turnaround times. Additionally, the GPA must be comfortable with a Global market, including working with cross functional and pursuit teams in different time zones and with different currencies and exchange.
The GPA collaborates with Sales, Pre-Sales, Professional Services and Product Management to develop compelling and competitively positioned enterprise software pricing proposals. The ability to understand multiple product solution offerings, pricing concepts (e.g., margin protection, price waterfall, price levers), markets, legacy deals and pricing offerings is necessary as the Pricing Consultant is expected to provide guidance and insight to the pursuit team. The GPA also maintains a good knowledge of associated corporate processes, including the management of contracts, order forms, and maintenance renewals, and develops relationships with other specialists who are concerned with pricing, such as members of the professional services, legal, finance, and purchasing departments.
The functions of the job are as follows :
- Plays a key role in achieving and exceeding the company’s annual bookings objectives.
- Guides Sales in following corporate practices to protect Hitachi Energy business objectives and values.
- Works with Customer Service Organization and Product Management to determine product and project scope in order to produce high quality pricing proposals as part of the Proposal Team to prepare competitive bids and supporting documentation using standardized tools and processes.
- Coordinates with sales teams to capture customer requirements and determine sales strategy.
- Leads, facilitates and drives meetings with key stakeholders, including senior level management, for pricing development.
- Ability to analyze and communicate value-based pricing strategies.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
- Provide a Simple Price Template upon request to Sales.
