What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Engineer - Breakers & Modules position at Hitachi Energy?
The Procurement Engineer Specialist is responsible to coordinate with Quality and Supplier Quality Engineer team to ensure suppliers are delivering products per Hitachi Energy standards, on-time and on-quality.
Key Responsibilities:
*Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Collaborate with them to improve product quality, lead time, and cost reduction.
*Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key quality performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers, including defect rates, on-time delivery, and supplier capacity.
*Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement efforts both internally and with suppliers by recommending process enhancements, supporting Lean or Six Sigma projects, and driving operational excellence.
*Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier performance, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
*Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics to address supplier performance issues and ensure product specifications are met.
Required Qualifications:
*Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience.
*Experience:
*Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement, Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or related field within manufacturing or automotive industries.
*Proven experience in improvement projects, and root cause analysis.
*Certifications:
Desirable Attributes:
*Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
*Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
*Ability to travel domestically or internationally to visit suppliers when required.
