Summary of the position:
Hitachi Global Air Power (HGAP) is a leading industrial manufacturer of compressed air systems. With a strong commitment to innovation and quality, we distribute our products through a network of channel partners, including independently owned distributors, HGAP-owned locations, OEMs, Strategic National Accounts, etc. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Channel Manager. This role will primarily focus on providing administrative sales and channel management support, ensuring seamless coordination between our company and our network of independent Hitachi Global Air Power brand distributor partners.
This position is located in Chicago, Illinois, Michigan City, Indiana, or Charlotte, North Carolina.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Channel Performance Management - With guidance from Commercial Operations Director, manages scorecard process and metrics; responsible for distribution, collection, and ongoing monitoring of quarterly review process for distributors.
- Channel Governance- Responsible for channel partner contract administration, including issuing new agreements, and on-boarding new accounts. Develops distributor profiles and ensures that CRM account and contact data is current/accurate. Interacts with legal as required. Likewise, responsible for managing the administrative process of terminations and offboarding of accounts. Periodically reviews and provides content updates for distributor policy manual.
- Channel Interface-Acts as the channel ‘gatekeeper’ for all channel communication for defined segment including service bulletins, training, and announcements. Manages Dealer Portal and SharePoint as well as other communications tools.
- Channel Programs- Oversight of Co-Op program including program manual and guidelines; Plans and administers other programs as needed for defined channel segment; Plans and coordinates channel partner events as needed.
- Advisory Council Leader – responsible for leadership and facilitation of advisory council for defined segment. Manages and implements all actions resultant from Advisory Council meetings; manages meetings and timing.
- Market Data – Provides input as needed for the monthly and quarterly market reporting and analysis; responsible for maintaining sales & distribution territories and supporting material for defined segment.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
Professional experience:
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in Business, Sales and/or Marketing fields in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have experience with the distribution model (B to B).
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills required.
- Must be a self-starter, with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with a desire to serve customers.
- Experience with contract review and administration.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms. SAP and Power BI experience highly desirable.
- Experience with business-to-business sales and channel management strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
