EXPECTED PAY RANGE : $126,757 - $174,291 annually (Senior Software Engineer)

140,095 – $192,630 annually (Senior Staff Software Engineer)
154,836 - $212,900 annually (Principal Software Engineer)
The pay ranges listed above are for each position’s base pay only. This position may be eligible for other compensation including incentive pay and / or allowances. Candidates will receive additional information during the interview and selection process.
POSITION SUMMARY
Software Engineers are responsible for the development and maintenance of software and systems for Hitachi High-Tech America, Inc. (HTA) products.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Hands-on development, documentation, and testing of distributed applicationsResearching and resolving complex software and system problemsDesigning and simplifying user interfaces and documenting themCreating architectures and complex designs independently and documenting themIntegrate and test software to confirm compliance with specificationsDeveloping functional specificationsFinding and fixing complex errors in any softwareParticipate in design reviews, code reviews, and test reviewsOther duties as assignedEDUCATION, LICENSES, and / or CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceEXPERIENCE and TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in software development – Senior Software EngineerMinimum of ten (10) years’ experience in software development – Senior Staff Software EngineerMinimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in software development – Principal Software EngineerEmphasis in building large, highly scaled, complex N-Tier / SOA web-based business applications with a focus on server-side technologies is a plusMust have relevant experience with Core Java and multithreadingProfessional, hands-on experience with designing and developing applications using Java, Web-Services, and various databases in a highly scaled web environmentStrong experience using Java with a deep understanding of object-oriented analysis and design (including design patterns)Three (3) years’ experience in C is strongly preferredExperience with open-source framework / libraries / concepts / tools such as JMS (Sun MQ), Cobertura, Ant, Maven, PostgreSQL, JBoss, and Selenium is requiredFull software development lifecycle experienceDemonstrated experience and comfortability using Agile as well as iterative methodologiesDemonstrated experience with Test-driven development, using tools like Junit, Selenium, JMeter, and JProfile to spot performance issues and memory leaksExperience with JCR systems (preferably JackRabbit) strongly preferredThis position requires up to 30% international and domestic travelKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and / or ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
