Job Summary
Hitachi Rail is seeking a highly skilled O&M Rail Safety Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our operations and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Management: Participate in all aspects of the updating and continuous improvement of Safety Management System Programs and Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) in accordance with State Safety Oversight Agency (SSOA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with rail operations and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Audit and Compliance: Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years progressively responsible related experience in rail operations safety to include three (3) years supervision experience.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communications (verbal and written) skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization and with third party contractors.
