As we expand our operations, we seek a dynamic and experienced Outbound Shipping & Material Coordinator to join our Grid Components team.
Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor – Capacitors and Filters will ensure seamless manufacturing/assembly of capacitor banks (pole mount, shunt, metal enclosed) within our high-voltage components business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing/operations and a keen eye for optimizing processes to enhance the overall manufacturing/assembly process. The position is based at our Mt. Pleasant plant and reports to the Operations Manager – Capacitors and Filters.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading Manufacturing Production Team to execute our S>>Q>D>I>C vision. Safety, above all, Quality is greater than delivery, which is more important than inventory and cost.
- Accountable to ensure a safe work environment, continuous improvement in HSE processes, and integrity performance. Enforce safety regulations and provide a safe work environment for all employees. Oversee and guide the activities of assembly line workers, ensuring they are working efficiently and safely.
- Leading Manufacturing Production Team focusing on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production (i.e., machining, processing, assembly, or packaging).
- Monitoring the output quality to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products.
- Plan, organize, and schedule production activities to meet targets and deadlines.
- Maintaining accurate daily production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis.
- Setting day-to-day operational objectives for the team. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex.
- Responsible for executing a customer-focused operations strategy for the Capacitors & Filter product line and executing it according to schedule.
- Responsible with the Operations Manager for compliance with global and local standards, rules, policies, and procedures related to Operations/Project execution. This aligns with Group, Divisional, BU, and Hub policies.
- Responsible with the Operations Manager for introducing standards, guidelines, standardized processes, and KPls.
- Ensure that direct reports, customers, and stakeholders understand and follow policies, practices, and procedures.
- Work with Quality to ensure that assembled products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Train new employees on assembly line processes and safety procedures. Maintain skill matrix for all union employees.
- Identify and address production problems, such as bottlenecks or equipment malfunctions.
- Track and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Follows, maintains and enforces the production schedule with the union employees.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including attendance, output, production schedule, and quality control data.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and address issues.
- Motivate and guide team members, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork.
Qualifications & Required Skills :
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role with direct personnel management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and inspire others, particularly a union-represented team.
- Proficient in change management and time management, both personally and when coaching others.
- Strong analytical skills to focus on key aspects of the business and make informed decisions.
- Good communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Excellent communication and written communication to interact with customers, carriers, and internal teams and skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
