What are the responsibilities and job description for the Produce Clerk position at Hitchcock's Markets?

To maintain and operate the Produce Department in an efficient manner within company policy. To ensure that the work shift contributes to the financial best interests of the store.
GENERAL:
- Observe all store rules and company policies.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe Hitchcock’s dress regulations for the respective position.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
- Take stock to storage or shelf areas.
- Provides excellent customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.
- Assist customers in locating items as needed.
- Unloads product from trucks.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, stocking and displaying of products.
- Verifies ads, hangs current sale signs, and removes out-of-date sale signs.
- Performs routine price changes on products.
- Identify and dispose all produce which is no longer suitable for sale.
- Duties include stocking, wrapping and clean-up as assigned by management.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area.
