What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing GL Accountant – Battery Storage Systems position at HiTHIUM Energy Storage?
We seek a highly skilled Manufacturing GL Accountant to oversee general ledger accounting and financial operations within our battery storage systems division. This role will involve ensuring the accuracy of financial records, managing month-end closings, and providing insights into manufacturing financial performance. The ideal candidate will work closely with the finance and production teams to maintain compliance and support strategic decision-making.
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for manufacturing operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and post journal entries for cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing transactions.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare financial statements and manufacturing-specific reports, such as cost of goods sold (COGS) and production performance summaries.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost optimization.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with manufacturing goals.
Inventory and Cost Accounting:
- Oversee inventory accounting, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Support the development and maintenance of standard costing models for battery storage manufacturing.
- Reconcile inventory accounts and collaborate with the supply chain team on valuation adjustments.
Audit and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested schedules and documentation.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls specific to manufacturing activities.
Collaboration and Process Improvement
- Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to understand and improve cost efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Provide financial guidance to cross-functional teams to support manufacturing goals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA/CMA certification preferred.
- 3–5 years of general ledger accounting experience with manufacturing or cost accounting exposure.
- Experience in the battery or renewable energy sector is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of GL accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and cost structures.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excelskills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration across teams
