Accounts Payable Manager
Department: Finance
Reporting to: Controller
Role: The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for day-to-day accounts payable processing and assisting with special projects. This position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage workflow for high-volume activity in a fast-paced, growing company.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice entry, general ledger coding, payment processing, filing and data storage, and creating process efficiencies as needed.
· Research and resolve invoice discrepancies/issues and reconcile vendor statements.
· Manage and maintain positive relationships with internal and external business partners and respond to requests/inquiries.
· Analyzes expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
· Ensure accurate monthly reconciliation of accounts payable to the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
· Assist in the preparation of month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, ensuring all expenses are recorded accurately.
· Prepare and submit reports related to accounts payable activities, including aged payables, payment forecasts, and vendor payment histories.
· Assist with annual and periodic financial audits as needed.
· Lead year-end 1099 preparation and maintaining W-9 records.
· Maintain ongoing procedural documentation to ensure compliance.
· Continuously review and recommend improvements to AP processes and systems to streamline operations, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
· 5 years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced, growing, organization. Strong knowledge of general accounting principles with college coursework in accounting preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, preferred
· Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
· Experience scaling and managing a team of accounts payable professionals.
· Experience with both domestic and international vendor relationships
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Experience with QuickBooks and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
· Experience with cloud-based accounts payable automation platforms (e.g., Ramp, Bill.com, etc.)
· Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
· Experience with acquisition integration, preferred
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
