Job Description:
This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a strong mechanical aptitude. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision assembly, testing equipment, soldering, cable assembly, and basic electronic test equipment. Previous internship or apprenticeship in a related position is preferred, as well as certifications in Automation, Robotics, and Mechatronics field.
Responsibilities Include:
- Reading Work Orders: Reads work orders and follows requirements and assembly instructions for precision single-axis stages and multi-axis systems according to customer specifications and schedule;
- Interpreting Drawings: Reads and interprets engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions. Uses measuring instruments, granite surface tools, and test indicators to ensure the product is within customer specifications;
- Electronics Integration: Connects Hiwin electronics (servo drives and controls) to motion stages. Runs test programs to cycle stages and make measurements to verify conformance to specifications;
- Cable Management: Creates, tests, and labels extension cables in the work cell soldering station, according to job details and wiring schematics. Shortens and/or adds connectors to motor and encoder cables as needed;
- Documentation: Completes appropriate forms, prepares data sheets, and test reports;
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Operates designated machines and special test equipment. Performs routine maintenance of designated test equipment and work cell area. Evaluates test performance and construction data with the Engineering team;
- Communication and Teamwork: Receives instructions from and reports data to Engineers and other manufacturing personnel. Organizes work cell area by maintaining efficient use of space and proper housekeeping. Coordinates with Industrial and Mechatronics Engineering teams to select appropriate layout and tools for efficient assembly and testing tasks. Aids in creation/updating of work instructions and time studies as needed;
- Safety and Continuous Improvement: Understands and prioritizes occupational safety requirements, and ensures tools and equipment are used properly. Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
