Responsibilities
- Daily duties include journeyman level system engineering duties in support of the IBD systems.
- Interacts with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design.
- Participates in the development of test strategies.
- Reports directly to Program Systems Engineer Lead and interfaces with prime contract personnel.
- Solve engineering problems (or managing the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned.
- Developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
- Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
- Travel to other facilities via privately owned conveyance as part of official duties.
- Support the configuration, maintenance and operations of network infrastructure and functional systems components, hardware, and software on a large Military.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 10 - 12 Years position as a Sr. Systems Engineer implementing production grade products and services in a highly volatile/changing Military or Government environment.
- Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge, competencies, technical skills, and abilities to professionally certified in a related discipline and maintain currency on new technologies and/or applications to support information technology operations, requirements, and systems integration.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and writing, and demonstrated ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
- Required Certifications: CompTIA Security certification and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
