HK Lighting has an immediate opening for an Inside Sales Leader who will play a key role at the
forefront of our sales and service operations. This individual will drive exceptional outreach, quote
activity, and customer service, serving as the primary point of contact for project quotations,
coordination, technical support, product delivery, and all service-related interactions throughout the
sales process and beyond. The ideal candidate is passionate about exceeding customer
expectations, eager to become a product expert, and committed to making every project a success.
This position reports directly to the Outside Sales Leadership.
This role is onsite in Thousand Oaks, CA.
The salary range is between $70,000 to $110,000 annually depending on skills/experience.
Role & Responsibilities:
Develop deep product expertise and build strong customer relationships by understanding
each client’s unique needs, enabling you to deliver tailored solutions and consistently
outstanding service
Take ownership of results by executing directly and leading a high-performing inside sales
team, ensuring both individual and collective success
Manage customer quotations, orders, and inquiries with urgency and accuracy, navigating
a fast-paced, technical product environment with confidence and attention to detail
Proactively gather and maintain up-to-date information on active jobs, ensuring complete
visibility into project status and enabling timely communication and follow-up
Partner closely with operations and outside sales teams to track open orders, anticipate
potential delays, and help prioritize workflow to meet customer deadlines
Act as the voice of the customer by seeking out, synthesizing, and sharing field insights
with internal teams—including sales, marketing, operations, and engineering—to guide
product development, forecasting, and strategic planning
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by setting clear performance goals,
mentoring team members, and leading process innovations in how we quote, support, and
serve our customers and independent reps
Qualifications:
4-year college degree or 5 years of directly related lighting industry experience required
3 years of experience in an inside sales, quotations, or service role (within the building
products or electrical industries strongly preferred)
Experience in commercial or residential lighting strongly preferred
Team leadership experience preferred
Outside sales experience beneficial
