GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW
The Equipment Coordinator is primarily responsible for the daily monitoring, planning and management of Genset and chassis equipment assets within the scope of the company’s guidelines and procedures. To ensure operational efficiency while monitoring costs to minimize expenditures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Monitor Genset and chassis equipment inventories daily and determine needs based on provided factors
- Assist truckers, shippers and internal departments with specialized equipment issues
- Work closely with intermodal equipment providers to procure required chassis
- Manage genset lease orders and terminations based on contractual terms
- Analyze data and projections to forecast equipment demand
- Closely monitor and report on idling, damaged and missing assets
- Communicate and work closely with other departments and external vendors to fulfill required duties
- Prepare, monitor and analyze weekly reports as set forth by management in line with KPI’s
- In depth review and strict invoice auditing of vendors and dispute discrepancies
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Must have good Interpersonal skills and good communication skills both verbally and written
- Must be a self-starter and able to work individually and in a team environment
- Be able to handle heavy email traffic
- Knowledge of Logistics, Transportation, or fleet management a plus
- Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel / Word)
- Must be able to multi-task and problem solve
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field, or High School diploma/GED and equivalent experience required.
- Experience in container shipping or related industry preferred

Additional Details:
The pay range listed for this position is the anticipated starting salary or wage range, and the final offered rate will be based on individual merit and the relative compensation of employees in similar positions. HMM employee benefits include highly subsidized individual and family insurance coverage (medical, dental and vision), term life and disability insurance, 401(k) employer matching contributions, paid holidays, and up to 10 vacation days and six sick days in the first year.
