GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW
The Space Management Analyst manages cargo space for HMM shipping lines and optimizes the utilization in order to better serve customers and provide the most cost-effective operation for the company. This position is in charge of overall booking monitoring and cargo control. Liase with Commercial, Operational, Equipment Dept to maximize vessel utilization.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE POSITION
1. Monitor bookings by service and vessel
2. Manage space allocation by region & Service
3. Trouble Shooting
4. Optimization of vessel capacity
ADDITIONAL DUTIES/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Maintain/ update internal systems
2. Assist on commercial decisions not involving rates

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
This position requires a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and interpersonal skills. Excellent computer literacy is required including MS Word and Excel. Prior experience, ability to work well under pressure, strong organizational skills, multi-tasking talents, detail oriented and good phone etiquette.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· High School diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
· Preferred 1-2 years of experience in the transportation industry
ENVIRONMENT/ EQUIPMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work performed in an office environment where the noise level is moderate. Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk around the office. Frequently required to work on a computer. Occasionally required to use force to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.
MISCELLANEOUS
Good emotional intelligence, effective interaction with callers, visitors, managers and co-workers and self-management are keys to success in the role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
