Essential Job Functions/Duties
- Designs, implements, and manages sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes.
- Establishes high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in planning, forecasting, and budgeting approaches used by AHQ and the sales organization.
- Ensures planning, forecasting and budgeting efforts are appropriately integrated in line with Regional leadership, AHQ /HQ.
- Provides leadership to the Canada sales and logistics teams, and counsel to the Regional Vice President and leadership, in implementing campaigns to meet objectives set by AHQ/HQ
- Responsible implementing Regional KPI’s as set by HMM Regional/AHQ/HQ leadership.
- Partners with other leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Facilitates successful implementation of new programs through the organization by ensuring a well-defined, efficient process is in place for launch.
- Fosters continuous process improvement.
- Prioritizes investments in enabling technologies in support of efficiency and productivity.
- Works closely with the Regional VP and PNW management to implement strategies, recommends changes and enhancements.
- Responsible for communicating optimal deployment of personnel.
- Makes recommendations for changing roles, coverage models, or team configurations in order to maximize sales efficiency and productivity.
- Works closely with Regional VP and PNW Management to ensure regional sales success.
- Aligns reporting, and training with performance management priorities.
- Ensures reports and intelligence is provided to management timely and develops new reporting tools as needed.
- Coordinates with PNW and Canada leadership to lead efficient and accurate sales and ops reporting initiatives.
- Accountability for all Canada key Regional performance metrics as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Successful experience building a go-to-market strategy and Regional/corporate sales plan
- Successful experience building and growing a sales territory
- Selling ocean services (product/service) to importers /exporters.
- Monitoring and evaluating sales rep progress against stated expectations, in addition to aligning and changing behavior with performance expectations
- Managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities
- Utilizing a CRM to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, and closing data
- Hiring, developing and onboarding sales managers and representatives
- Building and managing a regional territory
- Providing status reports with market and customer feedback to the corporate leadership team
- PC proficiency
- Literate in MS Office Suite and general computer skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask is crucial
- Requires four-year degree in business or related field; Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent education and experience preferred.
- Requires at least 10 years of experience in sales management within a business-to-business sales environment, sales operations, business planning, or sales support management role.
- Experience in successfully managing corporate initiatives
- Work performed in an office environment where the noise level is moderate. Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk around the office. Frequently required to work on a computer. Occasionally required to use force to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.
