Seasonal Cutter 2

HBF, an industry leader in office furniture design and manufacturing, and a top brand in the HNI Corporation enterprise, is in search of a Seasonal Cutter 2 to join our team in Hickory, NC! 

Some of the essential aspects of the position include:

• Cut upholstery fabric or leather using electric knife, scissors and pinking machine
• Operate Gerber Fabric Cutting Machine
• Read sample list to determine specified fabric and pattern and quantity of swatches to be fabricated
• Spread fabric on table in single or multiple layers
• Position pattern over fabric to ensure fabric design is on swatch area and traces outline of pattern, using chalk
• Remove pattern and cut along outline, using scissors, electric knife, and pinking machine, to form swatch
• Maintain consistently high quality and quantity performance standards
• Perform other work within or outside the department as needed and as assigned by supervisor or lead
• Keep work area clean and orderly
• Drive quality standards and safety culture and compliance through policy, process and action

What it takes:

• 2 years of experience in fabric cutter role or equivalent knowledge of the processes
• Ability to work safely around machinery
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to perform each task at an incentive pace
• Ability to work in a factory environment that may incur temperature fluctuations averaging around 50 degrees in the winter and 100 degrees in the summer months and where dust fumes and noise are commonplace
• Ability to work scheduled overtime as the production schedule dictates
• Experience with operating Gerber Fabric Cutting Machine
• Fabric Cutting experience
