What We Need:
We are looking for an Education Sales Manager to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings team supporting the Southeast US territory.
The Education Sales Manager is responsible for increasing education sales and profitability throughout the organization. The Education Sales Manager is responsible for executing the national strategic plan based on current and potential distribution while maximizing HON’s market share and leveraging HON’s current programs. Activities are focused in the area of selling, marketing, training, programs, and promotional education.
What You Will Do:
- Influence the sale of HON products through multiple channels of distribution utilizing key events and activities to drive long-term sustainable growth.
- Identify and coordinate marketing and training opportunities in the market. Train accounts on product, pricing and programs, and work as a business partner/consultant to increase The HON Company’s sales volume. Increase The HON Company product line within the account through training and execution of HON’s Sales and Marketing Programs.
- Collaborate with our field sales team to develop, plan, and implement the market strategic plan. Maintain and execute a game plan for the market based on current distribution and potential distribution to maximize HON’s market share.
- Develops and communicates category strategic visions and goals, from a customer and marketplace perspective, to support profitable unit sales growth.
- Attends trade shows and prepares trip recaps highlighting product development priorities and opportunities.
- Collaborates with demand and merchandising team to accurately forecast product category and allocate open capacity between customers effectively.
- Build effective sales relationships to strengthen The HON Company’s position within the account and leverage against competition. Identify and coordinate gap market initiatives with our field sales leaders.
- Work in conjunction with BDMs and dealership sales staff to conduct joint sales calls and attend industry trade shows when necessary.
- Provide market intelligence and feedback to management on competition and competitive trends while recommending product and program enhancements to improve HON’s competitive position.
- Becomes an education market expert with knowledge of key end-users, competitive influences, and overall market trends.
What You Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Professional Sales, Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- Furniture industry or HNI/HON product knowledge preferred.
- At least three years of relevant experience within a sales or education environment and/or 18 months experience in HON Field Sales required, preferably in a Business Development Associate role.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.
