We are seeking a hands-on Mainframe IMS Application Database Administrator (IMS DBA) to provide expert-level support for IMS application databases across development, acceptance, and production environments. This position requires deep experience with IBM IMS, DBRC, COBOL, JCL, and z/OS utilities, with responsibilities ranging from performance monitoring and recovery to infrastructure coordination and disaster recovery planning.
The selected candidate will serve as a key technical resource for both legacy systems and ongoing mainframe modernization efforts, working closely with system administrators, application developers, and infrastructure teams to maintain availability and performance of mission-critical systems.
Note: This role is strictly for an IMS DBA. DB2 experience is not a substitute.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer mainframe IMS application databases across all environments.
- Perform backup, recovery (including forward recoveries), and tuning activities.
- Create, modify, and maintain IMS database descriptions.
- Manage DBRC/RECONS, List reports, and assist with DBRC-related issues.
- Conduct database reorganizations, record updates, and space adjustments.
- Support application teams with database refreshes and IMS-related abends.
- Provide technical assistance for application deployments and environment setup.
- Maintain and support mainframe operating system administration and production control.
- Coordinate software upgrades and disaster recovery tests with DCS vendors.
- Monitor and report on compliance with vendor standards and system updates.
- Provide after-hours support for nightly batch schedules involving COBOL and JCL.
- Assist developers with job scheduler, REXX scripting, and ISPF tools.
- Troubleshoot and debug JCL, IMS/CICS COBOL programs, and job failures
- 100% Remote (Telework within the United States)
