JOB SUMMARY:
The Controller must be a strategic leader with integrity, a collaborative nature, and a desire to help others be successful. This position will plan, direct, coordinate and oversee all corporate accounting activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.
SCOPE:
The Controller is a full-time, salaried employee. This employee reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the corporate accounting team. The Controller must be able to think independently, and solve problems in a results-driven, team-oriented environment. Regular communication and reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and other members of the leadership team will be required.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Lead, Manage and Hold Team Accountable (20%)

Oversee the corporate accounting team
-
Facilitate weekly L10 meeting with direct reports
-
Recruits, interviews, hires, trains and retain accounting staff

Meet with direct reports on a regular basis, both one-on-one and in a team environment, to promote the development of skills as well as team rapport.
Quality Control (30%)

Regular analysis and reporting of trends, areas of improvement and opportunities

Policies and procedures
-
Conduct thorough analysis of current operational processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and deliver a best-in-class customer experience

Analyze financial data to identify trends, efficiencies and areas for cost reduction
-
Develop and monitor internal financial controls and procedures
-
Maintain and document accounting policies and procedures
-
Continuous evaluation of existing accounting platforms, research and recommend modifications
Reporting & Production (50%)
-
Participate in general ledger setup, account control, journal entry processes, monthly closing and reporting
-
Bank reconciliations and cash management, intercompany accounts
-
Produce financial reporting packages including dashboard and KPI reporting
-
Manage the budget process
-
Prepare and submit debt compliance and other bank reporting as may be required
-
Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
-
Coordinate and lead the annual audit/tax prep process, including liaising with external auditors
-
Any other additional reports that may need to be produced
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
The position requires knowledge in the following areas:

Advanced understanding of Microsoft products

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Quickbooks

GAAP

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or finance

3 years’ experience in a controller or senior accounting role
