Position Summary:
The Plant Controller will serve as a key member of the plant’s leadership team, overseeing all financial operations within the manufacturing facility. This includes managing cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing finance, a deep understanding of private equity operations, and the ability to lead financial transformation and cost efficiency initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial aspects of the plant, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and provide detailed variance analysis and recommendations.
- Manage cost accounting functions, including product costing, cost of goods sold (COGS), and margin analysis. Lead efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with plant operations and senior leadership to ensure financial targets are met. Provide insight into key financial trends and risks affecting the plant’s operations.
- Ensure the plant maintains compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Understand the dynamics of working within a private equity environment, including driving financial performance, meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), and supporting value creation initiatives. Collaborate with the finance team to provide data-driven insights to senior management and investors.
- Provide leadership to the finance team within the plant, promoting a high-performance culture focused on accuracy, efficiency, and accountability. Lead efforts to streamline financial processes and systems, driving organizational change to support scaling and growth objectives.
- Work closely with operations, supply chain, and executive teams to optimize plant performance and ensure alignment of financial strategies with operational goals. Provide financial support and analysis for capital investment decisions, new product introductions, and process improvements.
- Champion initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving productivity, and increasing profitability. Analyze financial data to identify areas for cost reduction and implement solutions that drive efficiency within the plant.
- Support long-term strategic planning, forecasting, and risk management initiatives, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure plant financial stability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management or controlling, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the MedTech or healthcare industry.
- Proven experience working in a private equity-backed company, with an understanding of financial reporting, performance metrics, and value creation initiatives in a PE context.
- Strong background in cost accounting, financial analysis, and plant budgeting/forecasting.
- Experience leading change management initiatives within a manufacturing or production setting.
- Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of internal controls, SOX compliance, and other regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, operations, and investors.
