Job Title: Facilities Manager
The Facilities Manager at Hocking College works under the direct supervision of the VP of Student Experience and Success Support Services to ensure building safety protocol, cleanliness, and maintenance.
This role involves collaborating with facility staff to develop cleaning procedures, scheduling, and employee training protocols. The incumbent supervises facilities students and staff, assists with building cleaning and maintenance, maintains inventory, monitors stock and usage, and performs administrative duties as necessary for building policies and supplies.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring and providing recommendations for preventative maintenance, providing customer service to college departments, staff, students, representatives, partners, and the public, and adhering to Ohio, OSHA, and institutional safety standards and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leadership and Supervision: Provide leadership and supervision of custodial staff, manage custodial staff schedules, assignments, and work activities.
- Custodial Management: Manage chemical inventory and control, distribute and train staff on chemical inventory and control, and develop quality standards, procedures, guidelines, and training policies.
- Maintenance and Repair: Assist with building cleaning and maintenance, read floor plans, technical drawings, instructional drawings, and building codes, plan, prioritize, and complete work in the most efficient way while working in accordance with all city, state, and federal codes.
- Inventory Management: Create and complete materials lists, estimates, bid proposals, work orders, purchase orders; tool, equipment, asset, chemical, and stock inventories.
Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Experience: Previous employment in a related position, mechanical or trade certification and licensure, and ability to gain certifications if required.
- Skills: Excellent oral and written communications, excellent organization skills, excellent interpersonal skills, computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft office suite and databases, experience in bargaining unit negotiations preferred, basic math, communications, and public relation skills.
