The Hockomock Area YMCA School's Out Program is hiring a School Age Program Director/Site Director to lead a vibrant and licensed program in the Bellingham Public Schools. In this leadership role, you'll be responsible for developing and overseeing a dynamic program that ensures each child's safety, fosters learning, and provides meaningful entertainment. You’ll plan and implement engaging activities, creating a positive environment where children can thrive.
Essential Functions
- Maintains strict adherence to all EEC regulations at all times
- Develops, supervises, and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum for before and after school programs, half days, and enrichment activities, integrating STEM, physical activity, health and nutrition, outdoor play, and homework support
- Provides hands-on care for a group of children in programs with fewer than 52 participants to maintain proper ratios
- Fosters a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming atmosphere for staff, children, and families, promoting respect for individuality and diversity
- Recruits, hires, trains, and schedules staff to ensure proper ratios
- Provides clear guidance, conducts observations, documents feedback, approves staff timecards, and delivers performance evaluations
- Ensures equipment and play areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Manages inventory, ordering supplies and snacks as needed
- Is accessible to families during program hours to address concerns and provide support
- Organizes at least two family events per year and attend back-to-school nights
- Effectively communicates program schedules, policies, and updates to families
- Ensures all staff warmly greet children and caregivers daily.
- Submits weekly attendance reports, EEC logs, and monthly reports for administrative review
- Maintains accurate attendance, registrations, and state licensing documentation
- Follows proper release procedures, ensuring identification protocols are followed
- Documents accidents or injuries and completes incident reports promptly
- Builds strong relationships with school personnel, shares YMCA stories, and coordinates efforts to enhance program impact
- Completes at least 20 hours of training annually to meet licensing requirements and advance knowledge in the field
- Assists with YMCA Branch and Association Special Events and actively supports the Reach Out for Youth & Families Scholarship Campaign
