We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our engineering team. A key focus for this role is expertise in designing and working with Insulated Metal Panels (IMP) and cold room and clean room facilities in the life science sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building types, with a focus on projects involving Insulated Metal Panels (IMP) and cold room facilities.
- Develop detailed construction drawings and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural solutions into the overall project design.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and drafters.
- Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on design, construction methods, and material selection.
- Proficient in structural analysis, design, and detailing for a variety of building types, including experience with Insulated Metal Panels (IMP) and cold room facilities.
- Advanced skills in Revit and AutoCAD for the development of detailed construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to a range of stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality in design work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- P.E. designation is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building design.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required.
- Experience with energy-efficient design principles, particularly in the context of cold storage and refrigeration facilities.
- Familiarity with building codes and standards specific to cold room construction and Insulated Metal Panels.
- Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
- Familiarity with advanced modeling software or other structural analysis tools like SAP 2000, ETABS or other similar software.
