What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Advisor- Hoehn Jaguar Land Rover Carlsbad position at Hoehn Motors?
Hoehn Acura, a Hoehn family dealership, is looking for an experienced Parts Counter Specialist that can join an established team to help maintain and grow our parts business.
Primary duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist technicians and Service Advisors in selecting parts required for in shop repairs
- Assist retail and wholesale customers with pricing of accessories and ordering parts for repair
- Keep track of pending orders and follow up on back-ordered parts advising customers of any delayed items
- Stay up to date on new accessory releases and updates to existing parts
- Maintain Acura Certification by completing all quarterly training and any other training that is required by the manufacturer
- Be friendly and courteous when assisting retail and internal customers as well as maintaining a positive attitude
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines method of shipment.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
- Inserts items into containers.
- Tracks warranty parts by tagging with repair order number, date of replacement, and date on which part may be disposed of.
- Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Routes items to appropriate departments/personnel.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates equipment to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving area to storage or work area.
- Disposes materials in recycle and trash bins as directed
- Completes health, safety, and compliance training as directed by management
- Performs tasks in accordance with health, safety, and compliance regulations and procedures
- Maintains a safe, secure, and organized working environment
- Completes manufacturer training as directed by management
- Deliver parts to Technicians in the shop
- If certified, operate forklift in a careful and responsible manner.
Pay Rate: $16.50 plus commission.
Job Requirements:
- Previous automotive dealership parts experience a plus
- Knowledge of ADP/CDK and PET parts catalog a plus
- Ability to multi-task as well as taking on projects and assignments within the department
- Valid Driver’s license with good driving record
