GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises fleet of assigned drivers so they pick up and deliver freight in a safe, productive, timely, compliant and professional manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and sustain a positive culture, quality performance, safe environment, and a positive, professional driver experience
- Review assigned drivers pre-plans to ensure they have the required time available to meet appointed times and that the pre-plan won’t jeopardize the driver’s home-time needs.
- Plan time off and schedule important family time for drivers
- Transmits pre-plan info, routing, and fuel solutions in a timely manner so drivers are well informed and can trip plan properly.
- Dispatches drivers, processes inbound & outbound messages and promptly respond to questions or concerns from the driver.
- Communicates with the Planners if a pre-plan won’t work or will no longer work for one of their drivers as soon as they recognize an issue.
- Engages with the Planners and other Driver Managers to maximize productivity of the drivers and equipment
- Ensures DOT compliance is constantly maintained with all assigned drivers
- Coordinates equipment maintenance issues with maintenance personnel
- Participates in training opportunities to improve self-learning and works to maintain mutual respect and professionalism with co-workers and management to sustain a positive team environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluent use of Microsoft Office products and database software
- Effectively communicates instructions and solutions both verbally and written
- Ability to establish positive relationships with staff and customers
- Enthusiasm to meet and exceed company and personal goals
