What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Development Manager position at HOERBIGER Corporate?
HOERBIGER is seeking a Corporate Development Manager (CDM) to work on strategic projects in the areas of sales and distribution strategy, geographic expansion, new product/business development, operational excellence, organization, and M&A.
The role reports to the Group Head of Business Development in Europe and will work directly with the Heads of two Business Units based in the US – the Safety Division in Marlborough, MA (near Boston) and the Rotary Solutions Division located in Waukegan, IL (near Chicago).
The position can be located either at either business unit - in Waukegan, IL or Marlborough, MA. Position involves travel 25%-30% of time both domestic and international.
Essential Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead, manage and/or coordinate strategic projects and initiatives at Divisional level. Ensure structured approach and results delivery
- Lead and develop market segmentation & market research. Develop and present insights, trends, and potential business models/strategies that deliver sales and margin growth. Creates a vision of where to play – how to win
- Participate in the annual strategy planning and implementation process. Actively engaging as sparring partner for the BU & Divisional heads.
- Engage with management at all levels, ensuring alignment and buy-in in a decentralized environment
- Identify key risks to achieving program goals/development of mitigation plans
Data Analytics
- Transform data and available information into valuable insights and actionable initiatives
- Autonomously identify, analyze, and recommend markets and segments of potential interest for Rotary and Safety Business Units, including coordination of commercial due-diligence projects
- Advocate for adopting innovative ways and ideas
- Focus is on growth (organic and M&A) and projects are mostly global, but internal stakeholders mostly in DACH region, USA, and China
Market/Customer Support
- Ability to uncover customer needs and translate product/service benefits in a highly engineered solutions company.
- Ability to synthesize various data to determine trends, opportunities, and conditions to build effective market segmentation models. Progressive experience in product life cycle management.
- Coordinate with Senior Leadership Teams of the divisions on high level strategies or confidential programs to ensure sustainable profitable growth, market leadership, and high customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Minimum three years’ experience in transactional Mergers & Acquisitions (target screening, evaluation, due diligence, deal execution and PMI)
- Minimum three years’ experience in Project Management, including experience leading complex and multi-functional projects
- Three years’ experience in Top-Tier consulting
- Financial savvy; strong understanding of financial statements/ledgers and application of financial theory to the corporate setting
- Motivated and passionate about industrial technology; experience in manufacturing, automation, operational excellence, supply chain
- Good communication skills (oral and written) and ability to interact with senior stakeholders
- Results oriented and pragmatic
- Hands-on and down to earth
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple concurrent projects using creativity, flexibility, and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance, Engineering, or other related area required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Able/willing to travel 25%-30% of time both domestic and international.
