Your Mission
As a Regional Repair Support Engineer at HOERBIGER, you will be a key technical resource supporting our North American Service Centers. You’ll play a vital role in analyzing component failures, optimizing repair processes, maintaining accurate documentation, and driving improvements to ensure the reliability and performance of reciprocating compressors.
How You Will Make a Difference
- Collaborate with service centers to provide detailed repair specifications and ensure best-in-class component servicing.
- Analyze returned compressor components to identify failure trends and recommend improvements.
- Manage Bills of Materials (BOM) and repair master data for critical reciprocating compressor parts.
- Lead proactive technical resolutions, ensuring all stakeholders are informed, aligned, and empowered to succeed.
- Contribute to engineering process enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives across service locations.
- In-depth knowledge of reciprocating compressor components including valves, pistons, rods, cylinders, crossheads, and crankshafts.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills to create clear reports, repair specs, and presentations.
- Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings and utilize precision tools for measurement and analysis.
- Hands-on ERP experience, with SAP highly preferred.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems using both data and practical insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the compression or rotating equipment industry.
- Comfortable working in a high mix, low volume machine shop environment.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time to service centers and occasionally to customer sites.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and spend time standing or walking in shop settings.
